Our wonderful vacation in the United Arab Emirates began with a day exploring some amazing places in Ras Al-Khaimah! We visited the Suwaidi Pearl Farm, saw Dhayah Fort, and visited the National Museum of RAK. It was all absolutely amazing!
Suwaidi Pearl Farm
The first stop of the day was the incredible Suwaidi Pearl Farm. Here we learned all about pearl farming!
We began our tour with a beautiful boat ride to the pearl farm, soaking in the stunning scenery surrounding us!
Luckily we were the only people on the tour for that day, so that made it even more enjoyable!
We saw the entire process and even learned about the history of pearl farming specifically in the Middle East. Suwaidi Pearl Farm is the only pearl farm in the Middle East, so that made it even more interesting to learn about!
While learning about the history, we also got to see the types of ships that were used for the pearl diving!
They also offered us some Arabic tea or coffee and dates, which was so kind!
Then we got to watch the process of getting the pearl, which was so interesting!!
They also showed us how to tell the difference in the types and quality of the pearls. Finally, they showed us some amazing jewelry pieces they had for sale!
Visiting the Suwaidi Pearl Farm was so interesting and a lot of fun! It was the perfect way to begin our day in Ras Al-Khaimah.
Dhayah Fort
Although we were sadly not able to go all the way up to the fort, we made sure we took a pit stop at Dhayah Fort! Even from afar, it was so incredible!
We were planning on walking up to the fort, but the road was sadly too small to fit the car we were driving. Nonetheless, it was still an amazing stop and a great photo opportunity! Next time I will hopefully be able to go to the top!
National Museum of RAK
Our final stop of the day before heading to the Ritz Carlton was the National Museum of RAK!
Here we learned more about the history of Ras Al-Khaimah and explored this beautiful museum.
There were lots of ancient artifacts to see and learn about as well as beautiful places outside to discover!
My favorite part was all the amazing photo spots you could find here! Everywhere you turned was a new opportunity for gorgeous pictures with this beautiful architecture.
