Montage – Palmetto Bluff, SC

Montage

I recently stayed at the beautiful Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina and it was such an amazing getaway! The hotel glistens with Southern charm and the surrounding area is so delightful to explore!

The Room

The hotel room itself was very inviting and spacious!

The second bathroom was an excellent part of the room, which made it easier for everyone to get ready in the mornings.

The balcony is lovely to enjoy throughout your stay!

With the current events of COVID-19, we were welcomed with a “Be Healthy Kit” which included a facemask, hand sanitizer, and a couple other items to be of use throughout your stay.

Coffee & Snacks

Each morning they served coffee in the sunroom near the lobby!

In the afternoon during a designated hour, they served chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies! However, they were gone very quickly, so if you would like to enjoy them it would be smart to be in the sunroom a few minutes before the assigned time for this afternoon snack.

S’mores!

Another thing we loved about the area was the s’mores they had each night near the “town”!

It was a lot of fun to sit around the fire and enjoy a s’more with their homemade marshmallows! I tried the coconut flavored marshmallow & it was delicious!

Biking!

We spent a lot of our time biking around the resort and the nearby “town”.

Near the hotel there was an amazing treehouse you could climb and the view from the top was beautiful!

Boating!

We also took a boat trip one day, which was a lot of fun and very informative about the area! I highly recommend taking one of these trips to see more of Palmetto Bluff!

What looks to be sand on these shores is actually oysters!

We then got to see the live oysters in other parts of the water!

The views were stunning out on the water!

Palmetto Bluff

The nearby “town” itself was charming and very fun to walk or bike around! There was a restaurant, an ice cream shop, a couple shops, a Post Office, and the beautiful chapel!

Dining

The first night we ate at Cole’s, which was in another little “town” about 2 miles away, which the hotel shuttle took us to.

We tried several of the appetizers and also enjoyed a couple desserts, which were all delicious!

The following day we ate at Buffalo’s, in the “town” closest to our hotel, which was also very good!

Savannah, GA

The Vault

Savannah was only about a 40 minute drive from Palmetto Bluff, so for dinner one night we drove into the city and ate at The Vault.

The overall vibe of this restaurant was very welcoming and trendy and the food tasted great as well!

I got the “Chicken Claypot”, which was very delicious!

Hunting Beach, SC

Before driving back home, we stopped at Hunting Beach to walk on the beach and explore!

The beach was covered in fallen trees, which made for beautiful pictures, especially when the waves crashed onto them!

Overall, this trip was a very refreshing getaway, especially considering all the summer plans that have been changed due to the pandemic. If you are looking for a relaxing yet adventurous vacation spot for 2020, Palmetto Bluff and all the surrounding areas would be a great place to visit!
